Comfort One Another With These Words: The Rapture - What Does It Mean?

One of the most awesome things that happened to me when I first became a believer in Christ was learning that I no longer needed to afraid of dying. Since middle childhood (7 or 8) I was so scared. So many questions about the after life and all the between part. I discovered that we can not earn salvation by any good works or anything we do. My heart wanted to know the absolute Truth about life and the meaning of it. It took a long time, but one day the blinds opened and the light bulb went on. At first I didn't have assurance about Heaven because every time I sinned, I felt so yucky and guilty that every opportunity on television or a meeting, I would invite Jesus into my heart repeatedly. That was until God blessed me by sending a godly Christian woman. She boldly came up to me in church (as if she knew) and asked "If you died today or tonight, do you know if you would go to Heaven?" My answer was an instant, "No!" She then told me she was having a new believers Bible study, would I like to join. It was where I learned the basic foundational doctrines about Christianity. Death lost it's sting.

[1Co 15:49-57 KJV] 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory? 56  The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin [is] the law. 57 But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

[Jhn 14:2-4 KJV] 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

The Rapture?
This leads right into this question: Ever see the movie or read the "Left Behind," book series? The basic focus is an event known as "the Rapture," occurs for all Christian Believers and those who are not, are left behind. Some Christians will say the word "Rapture," is not in the Bible and they would Harpazo." Click here to see the definition breakdown. The one that best sums it up is, "to snatch out or away."
be correct. It is a word that has been used to describe an event mentioned more than a few times in God's Word. Instead of trying to explain it in my own words, the best place is to go the source to see what God says about this rapturous event yet to come.  But first, I do want to say that the word best known in the original Greek from the New Testament, that is about the "rapture," is "
As well click here, for an article about the Rapture, with a lot of verses best explaining the hope we are to comfort one another with.

[1Th 4:13-18 KJV] 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Even In This Crazy World: Having The Mind Of Christ Causes Joy To Overflow Our Soul: Pastor Paul Begley

Today God touched my heart as I was listening to Pastor Paul Begley. The show is broadcast live daily and is about 2 hours. What touched my heart starts at about the 1:26:00 mark on the video. So the last quarter or so.  That makes me want to share his message/God's message with anyone who wants to listen.

Love Covers A Multitude of Sins. He is The Potter, We are the clay. God shapes us and keeps reshaping us, as a potter does his clay. If we have the mind of Christ, we receive peace that we can not create on our own. And we will have love for others, that flows from Christ's Love in our hearts.
Just my short paraphrase. Watch at the 1:26:00 mark to hear what I can't expressed.

[Jer 18:1-6, 19-23 NLT] 1 The LORD gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, 2 "Go down to the potter's shop, and I will speak to you there." 3 So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. 4 But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over. 5 Then the LORD gave me this message: 6 "O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand. ... 19 LORD, hear me and help me! Listen to what my enemies are saying. 20 Should they repay evil for good? They have dug a pit to kill me, though I pleaded for them and tried to protect them from your anger. 21 So let their children starve! Let them die by the sword! Let their wives become childless widows. Let their old men die in a plague, and let their young men be killed in battle! 22 Let screaming be heard from their homes as warriors come suddenly upon them. For they have dug a pit for me and have hidden traps along my path. 23 LORD, you know all about their murderous plots against me. Don't forgive their crimes and blot out their sins. Let them die before you. Deal with them in your anger.

[Rom 9:19-24 NLT] 19 Well then, you might say, "Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven't they simply done what he makes them do?" 20 No, don't say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, "Why have you made me like this?" 21 When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn't he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into? 22 In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction. 23 He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory. 24 And we are among those whom he selected, both from the Jews and from the Gentiles.

UFO's?! Strange Encounters?! - Are Aliens Real?

Okay, here is a topic many Christians do not discuss. And even non-believers avoid it as well. Have
you ever thought about or even seen strange lights or images in the skies? How about in your home? What about night terrors or sleep paralysis? Are you about to leave this page thinking "That's it, she is out of her mind!" Consider these researcher's conclusions before you write me off :o)

First of all, the Bible tells us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces in the Heavenly realm. So the fact that many people experience things that are not "normal" but, that appear inter dimensional, makes sense. No doubt, there are some who may be dealing with troubling issues or witnessing military aircrafts or hologram images (yes, Star Trek seems to be coming to real life.) But, out of the incredible increase in UFO sightings and these days, video and picture evidence, many of them have to be real. One Christian researcher/speaker explains it best...What is happening in the spiritual realm/dimension, is manifesting in the physical (our's) realm or dimension.

[Eph 6:10-14 NLT] 10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness.

Supernatural
We know beyond all doubt that we are not just in the physical dimension, that there is an unseen realm, the supernatural - we know God is very real- we see evidence of His reality in all of His creation, but we do not see Him. Jesus Christ is God coming in Human form to fulfill Biblical prophecy.
Chuck Missler and other Christians we have listened to, have said that the unseen world is more real, than the world we can not see. We are also told to seek out God with our whole heart, mind and soul, and to trust in Him alone, to avoid as warned by God in His Word, to not purposely seek out hidden things - which is what the word "occult" means. Here are some great verses about all that.
[Rev 22:14-16 NLT] 14 Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life. 15 Outside the city are the dogs--the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie. 16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star."
[1Co 10:18-24 NLT] 18 Think about the people of Israel. Weren't they united by eating the sacrifices at the altar? 19 What am I trying to say? Am I saying that food offered to idols has some significance, or that idols are real gods? 20 No, not at all. I am saying that these sacrifices are offered to demons, not to God. And I don't want you to participate with demons. 21 You cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and from the cup of demons, too. You cannot eat at the Lord's Table and at the table of demons, too. 22 What? Do we dare to rouse the Lord's jealousy? Do you think we are stronger than he is? 23 You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is good for you. You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is beneficial. 24 Don't be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.
[2Co 11:13-15 NLT] 13 These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.
[Lev 19:26 NLT] 26 "Do not eat meat that has not been drained of its blood. "Do not practice fortune-telling or witchcraft.
[Isa 44:24-25 NLT] 24 This is what the LORD says--your Redeemer and Creator: "I am the LORD, who made all things. I alone stretched out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth? 25 I expose the false prophets as liars and make fools of fortune-tellers. I cause the wise to give bad advice, thus proving them to be fools.
[2Ki 17:14-20 NLT] 14 But the Israelites would not listen. They were as stubborn as their ancestors who had refused to believe in the LORD their God. 15 They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and they despised all his warnings. They worshiped worthless idols, so they became worthless themselves. They followed the example of the nations around them, disobeying the LORD's command not to imitate them. 16 They rejected all the commands of the LORD their God and made two calves from metal. They set up an Asherah pole and worshiped Baal and all the forces of heaven. 17 They even sacrificed their own sons and daughters in the fire. They consulted fortune-tellers and practiced sorcery and sold themselves to evil, arousing the LORD's anger. 18 Because the LORD was very angry with Israel, he swept them away from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah remained in the land. 19 But even the people of Judah refused to obey the commands of the LORD their God, for they followed the evil practices that Israel had introduced. 20 The LORD rejected all the descendants of Israel. He punished them by handing them over to their attackers until he had banished Israel from his presence.
[Deu 18:9-13 NLT] 9 "When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, be very careful not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations living there. 10 For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, 11 or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD. It is because the other nations have done these detestable things that the LORD your God will drive them out ahead of you. 13 But you must be blameless before the LORD your God.
[Gal 5:18-22 NLT] 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. 19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[1Pe 5:8-9 NLT] 8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
[Mat 24:23-27, 29-30 NLT] 23 "Then if anyone tells you, 'Look, here is the Messiah,' or 'There he is,' don't believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God's chosen ones. 25 See, I have warned you about this ahead of time. 26 "So if someone tells you, 'Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,' don't bother to go and look. Or, 'Look, he is hiding here,' don't believe it! 27 For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. ... 29 "Immediately after the anguish of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will give no light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 30 And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Do Not Be Afraid
If More evidence that these encounters are demonic, are when you hear testimonies about those witness either a visible presence or images, who rebuke and/or declare the Name Of Jesus for them or "it," to stop, because the believe in Jesus Christ, and instantly, the whole event or images disappear, in many cases, never to return again. No other Name can make these things go away, that speaks volumes to anyone who believe they are actual extra terrestrial beings. Jesus' Name would have no effect if it were the case.
[Psa 14:1-7 NLT] 1 For the choir director: A psalm of David. Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! 2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. 3 But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one! 4 Will those who do evil never learn? They eat up my people like bread and wouldn't think of praying to the LORD. 5 Terror will grip them, for God is with those who obey him. 6 The wicked frustrate the plans of the oppressed, but the LORD will protect his people. 7 Who will come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel? When the LORD restores his people, Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice.

Our protection from such things is in Jesus Christ alone. If you do not know Him, please consider seeking out His Truth. He saved my husband's life, and mine too...just to name a couple :o)

[1Ch 22:19 NLT] 19 Now seek the LORD your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the LORD God so that you can bring the Ark of the LORD's Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the LORD's name."

Seek The Lord And You Find Him
[Jer 29:11-14 NLT] 11 For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you," says the LORD. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land."
[Pro 8:17 NLT] 17 "I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me.
[Isa 55:1-13 NLT] 1 "Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink--even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk--it's all free! 2 Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food. 3 "Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David. 4 See how I used him to display my power among the peoples. I made him a leader among the nations. 5 You also will command nations you do not know, and peoples unknown to you will come running to obey, because I, the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, have made you glorious." 6 Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. 7 Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. 8 "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the LORD. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. 9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. 10 "The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. 11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. 12 You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands! 13 Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up. These events will bring great honor to the LORD's name; they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love."

But Easter Is In The Bible! Why, If It Is A Pagan Word?

As always, I agonizingly want to search out the history and real history and/or meaning of many festivals and holidays we grew up celebrating. In the last few years, we have felt similar to what Lea does in the video in a previous post (click here) and even after what we learned today, still concur that paganism is at the root of this particular time of year as it relates to Easter the event, bunnies, eggs
and Ashtoreth. But not when people are honouring what Christ did for us during passover. Going by the passover dates would be the perfect way to follow the specific time period, of the resurrection of Jesus, because that is a celebration done every year, even to this day, ever since the Israelite's exodus out of Egypt.

Well, Today as my husband and I discussed why only the King James Translation, uses the pagan word Easter in Acts 12:4.  Since the original Greek word used is Pascha , which from Greek to English has been translated to Passover, not Easter. The Easter word only appears once, in the KJV,  and every where else in the KJV, the word Passover  is used (where Pascha in Greek is used in the original Biblical language) . In other translations, the word Passover is used in every occurrence where "Pascha is used in Greek).

What was confusing, is how the KJV only folks, say Herod meant the pagan festival Easter in Acts 12:4,  and could not have meant the Jewish Passover. The feast of unleavened bread precedes the Passover meal. The explanations from KJV only folks, state that Herod is saying he will bring Paul forth out of prison for judgment after Easter, is because Passover is already over, so he must mean the Pagan Easter. If you read Acts 12, you will see it is not. In fact the Bible clearly says:
[Act 12:1-5 NLT] 1 About that time King Herod Agrippa began to persecute some believers in the church. 2 He had the apostle James (John's brother) killed with a sword. 3 When Herod saw how much this pleased the Jewish people, he also arrested Peter. (This took place during the Passover celebration.) 4 Then he imprisoned him, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring Peter out for public trial after the Passover. 5 But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.

It appears, they are trying to justify why the word, Easter is used (because it is pagan after all). But, the more we researched this, the more their explanation did not match Scripture. The Bible is always our plumb line. Here is a decent article we found about the origins of the word Easter."
Ask God for guidance, He leads us into all Truth.

Remember this always, as we are asked to by Jesus....
[1Co 11:23-34 NLT] 23 For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread 24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me." 25 In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant between God and his people--an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this to remember me as often as you drink it." 26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord's death until he comes again. 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. 29 For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God's judgment upon yourself. 30 That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died. 31 But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way. 32 Yet when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world. 33 So, my dear brothers and sisters, when you gather for the Lord's Supper, wait for each other. 34 If you are really hungry, eat at home so you won't bring judgment upon yourselves when you meet together. I'll give you instructions about the other matters after I arrive.

Updated, April 14, 2017- SHOULD CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE EASTER? - Two Views Part 1
