Food for thought on Bible translations. If you look through the Sure Hope Gazette, you will see there have been times where I struggle with whether or not there is an english Bible translation that is ordained by God, and others are not ordained or basically approved, by God. Being someone who struggles with old english, like Shakespeare's work, I all my past twenty five years I used the modern paraphrases and translations only because it was was for me to understand. But in the last 8 years or so, it came to our (my husband as well) attention that there is a huge difference between the Authorized King James Version and so far, every single other translation published in the last two hundred years. For a year or so I had concluded the KJV was definitely something special, there was no denying that other translations, NASB, ESV and NIV included. My husband is still adhering to the King James translation, but when I read the New Living Translation it just felt like I understood it...

Phil Robertson My husband and I for a while were watching seasons of Duck Dynasty back to back, when we first discovered it about four years ago. We appreciated the Phil scenes because he seemed real, open and brutally honest. Before that, we had heard the name Duck Dynasty but were clueless about what it was. Too many times, I forget to pray for protection before researching the enemy's tactics and as a result, the spiritual battle increases. We don't have to be intimidated or fear the enemy if we are walking under Christ's His protection. More than twenty years ago when I first became a Christian, I never gave October 31st a second thought. No, I didn't like the death themed decorations and costumes, but it was the time when cute children got to look even cuter in costumes. In fact, I did it as a child and continued trick or treating. Even after the city I lived in, when I was about 4 or so, had reports of poisoned kiss candies and razor blades in apples. And that was the late 60s, early 70s!
