Sure Hope Gazette

Hi guys. we were recently encouraged during these challenging times to always hang on tight to the Rock of our Salvation. A dear friend sent us these Scriptures as a reminder. Dear Lord please encourage all who read Your Word and help us all to remember always to hold on to You. Help us not to worry, but to rest, knowing Your Word reassures us that we have no reason to fear or worry. For anyone reading this post, searching for the meaning of life and Sure Hope, please stir their hearts and draw them to You Lord Jesus. Help them to know that being a Christian is a relationship with Jesus and not following a religion. They Jesus loves everyone, inspire of what we may feel. Thank You Father for your love and forgiveness. Please bless all who read Your Word, helping them wherever they need help. We love you Lord. Never really thought that I would live to see days like these. My Mom is in the hospital and thanks to the covid pandemic she can only have my Dad visit. As thankful as I am for that, my heart feels sad to not be able to see her. People I know haven't been able to get medical treatment all because of this covid thing. Children have to wear masks to go to school while parents anxiously wonder if and when we will all be under lockdown again. News story after news story, all around our planet shows people wearing masks en masse or protesting lock downs and forced mask wearing. And that is just the covid pandemic. Then there are the crazy news stories we've watched from all four "corners" of the earth, massive fires, devastating weather phenomena, earthquakes in diverse places, unknown objects being caught on video, strange experiences, locust swarms, mass animal deaths, people hating like never seen before, moral Biblical morals blatantly ignored, families changing in wa...

For the first time in most of our lives, we are all experiencing the same thing for the most part. We are all facing warnings about avoiding a virus that can be spread by hand to hand, in the air, so far it kills 3% of it's victims. The more I learn about how it works against the human body in those like myself. I have a neuromuscular disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Which has meant living with the prediction by Doctors decades ago, that it won't be the disease that kills you, but pneumonia. This is because the muscles used for coughing up funky phlegm to fight of respiratory illnesses, just don't function well as I get older. Leaving this world does not scare me, I look forward to spending Eternity with my dear Lord and Saviour. For me, I do fear at times,  the process, or how He will end my physical life. One of the most awesome things that happened to me when I first became a believer in Christ was learning that I no longer needed to afraid of dying. Since middle childhood (7 or 8) I was so scared. So many questions about the after life and all the between part. I discovered that we can not earn salvation by any good works or anything we do. My heart wanted to know the absolute Truth about life and the meaning of it. It took a long time, but one day the blinds opened and the light bulb went on. At first I didn't have assurance about Heaven because every time I sinned, I felt so yucky and guilty that every opportunity on television or a meeting, I would invite Jesus into my heart repeatedly. That was until God blessed me by sending a godly Christian woman. She boldly came up to me in church (as if she knew) and asked "If you died today or tonight, do you know if you would go to Heaven?" We have been listening to a documentary, recommended by the Pastor we were listening to today Charles Lawson, of Dr. Rawlings. Pastor Lawson recently experienced a cardiac event  and he officially died for about 8 seconds. He recommended watching documentary about Dr. Rawling. Rawling,  was an atheist but then after experiencing the literal death of patients on the table, he became a Christian! This is a powerful testimony about the very real existence of Hell and Heaven. If you are an atheist, we challenge you to watch. If you are searching, take a look and if you are a Christian, be encouraged.

Today is the culmination of months and months and month, of the most unconventional political campaign we have ever witnessed. For the first time in my life and my husband's we have been paying close attention to the American Presidential race. Nope, not since I ran as a candidate in our provincial election about 22 years ago, have I watched an entire political debate, we watched almost all three of the Trump Clinton debates, along with commentaries, highlights and analysis'. We both feel that the Republicans are the party we would support. Why? Why would be so interested in this election? Well, aside from the obvious, Canada shares a border with America. In fact our city is about fourty miles from their border. My old high school teacher illustrated it best.
