Happy New Year everyone!  Hope you are all blessed with a meaningful, Truth filled year!  We want  to share the daily video teachings from a wonderful family that we first "met" through television about 19 years ago. Every year the Hembree family takes the viewer through the Bible in a year. 365 teachings as we read along with them. It has been sometime since we joined in. But prior to then, we had joined them for about ten years in a row! Their passion for sharing God's Word in a deep and meaningful way comes through clearly. So if you want to dig in deeper or are reading the Bible for the first time, we suggest connecting with "Bible Discovery TV." You can order a daily side that is printed and mailed to anyone with a donation of any amount. We love Janice and her family! Thank you guys for all you do and for teaching His Word. We are looking forward to following along this year. Watch January 1, 2018 Genesis 1-2 January 2 - Genesis 3-5...

Updated, April 14, 2017- SHOULD CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE EASTER? - Two Views Part 1

Image
Updated: Friday, April 14, 2017 As always, I agonizingly want to search out the history and real history and/or meaning of many festivals and holidays we grew up celebrating. In the last few years, we have felt similar to what Lea does in the video below and even after what we learned today, still concur that paganism is at the root of this particular time of year. That passover would be the perfect way to follow the specific time period, of the resurrection of Jesus, because that is a celebration done every year, even to this day, ever  since the Israelites exodus out of Egypt. Well, Today as my husband and I discussed why only the King James Translation, uses the pagan word (so we had learned up until that point) Easter in Acts 12:4.  Since the original Greek word used is Pascha , which from Greek to English has been translated to Passover, not Easter. That word only appears once, in the KJV,  and every where else in the KJV, the word Passover   is us...

SHARING TIME: "Shocking: Did you see the Prayer at the Inauguration? Warning to all Christians" and More

Image
Before I share what is on my heart, I just want to post this excellent video by brother Wayne Levi Price. After weeks of struggling with all that has been happening in America, we just "happened" to stumble across this video today that sums up EXACTLY what's been running through my head. Ask my husband....anyway, watch the video here, then if you want you can read my thoughts. I think what Price says is very pertinent to where we are at in the Biblical prophecy time period. Watch and pray! These days for me personally, have been challenging times, trying to know what is from God and what is not, as the new American President Donald Trump seemingly, bull dozes through his new position. Sorry, but that is the word that comes to mind. No, I am not taking a stand against him or anything,  the rant from Canada that I did a while ago still applies. Since we live in a democracy, I accept the results.  I do trust that God allows whoever He wants, for His purpose. Personall...

SURE HOPE IN DARK TIMES....HOPE IN ALL TIMES

Image
It has been difficult keeping posted on current event these days. Not that is isn't always that way. But, if you know what has been happening worldwide over the last days, weeks and months, it is hard to watch and listen to everything. My husband and I have rest and peace because of what God's inerrant Word tells us. Without Him, we wouldn't be able to handle life on this earth the way things are. We are warned ahead of time in the Bible that it isn't going to get better. In other words things will worsen before all can be awesome. If you know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, you already know that even though we may be brought to tears watching the news, and even feel the temptation to be afraid of what might happen...God reminds you through His Words to not lose heart.  If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, then you most likely might be feeling the fear and dread that I once battled as a child on through the first twenty years of life. All dr...

My Help Cometh From The Lord....Be Encouraged.

Image
Note: This started out to be a short post to share a new song I was inspired by. As I wrote, a lot more poured out onto my screen....So don't forget to check out the song at the bottom!   by Anita Berglund 2015 When I was a wee girl, I battled with fear a lot. I remember pleading with my Dad to promise me that we'd never have tornadoes, hurricanes, world war 3, earthquakes and such. Being my Daddy, he reassured me none of that would happen. Here I am 49 and still, none of those events have happened ( where we live that is.) Thanks to my Heavenly Father, Who loved me through my earthly Daddy, promising things that he actually had no control over, but loved me so much, he knew what I needed to hear that to have peace in my wee mind. Today I am reminded how much I need to depend upon my Heavenly Father always. Not trying to have things figured out on my own. But, God, my Father knows all things. Years ago, I learned that my dear Dad can't stop bad things from happe...

God Cares...

Image
Ever worry? As believers one of the most reassuring thing we need to learn is that our God is dependable. He cares for us in all ways. For myself, because I live with a physical disability, I often struggle with worrying. Worrying about something like,  how will I be able to hire a new Personal Care Attendant if the one I have resigns? How will I be able to get out of or into bed? Oh no, what if this so what if that? I am sure we all have certain areas in life that we may struggle with. If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour then join us in reminding ourselves, that God cares for all of our needs. It may not always look the way we want it to, but we must trust that He knows us and knows just what we need and when we need it. We are called to cast our cares, burdens, anxieties onto Him, for He cares for us. We are told to pray without ceasing, to make our requests known to Him. Most of all, Thanking God in all situations, not just when things are going the way we want ...

Who Did What and Who Didn't?

Image
Nehemiah Chapter 3 Chapter three seems to be about listing the names of those who helped with the building of the wall of Jerusalem and even mentioning those who didn't help. Here are just a few notes on what I believe this chapter is about.  One thing that came to mind was that nothing in God's Word is in vain. Meaning, that even the lengthy lists of genealogies and details have special purpose. So I cheated and googled that thought. Because specific names of gates and areas are mentioned, I thought it would be a good idea to have a diagram of Jerusalem to see where these places and names fit in. http://www.jesusplusnothing.com/studies/online/nehem3.htm On that note, here's what I saw in chapter three and after that is the link that gives an idea of what all of the details may mean.  In verse one we are told that Eliashib, who was the high priest, with his brethren the priests, built the sheep gate and sanctified it, as well as setting up the gate's doors...

Proverbs 27 -28. Notable Verses and Thoughts

Been a while since I said I was going to blog my studying to be accountable. Well, forget the excuses, yah, the excuses. Okay, I will write about them in the next entry :o).    [Pro 27:1, 5-7, 12, 14-15, 17 KJV]   1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. …  *This reminded me of James 4.  [Jas 4:13-15 KJV] 13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what [shall be] on the morrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. Pro 27:5 KJV   Open rebuke [is] better than secret love.  6 Faithful [are] the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy [are] deceitful.  7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bi...

"Heaven Is Real, but Heaven Is for Real Is Really Not"

Image
Have you ever felt that something you heard or read under the banner of "Christianity," just doesn't seem right? It happens too me a lot. It doesn't mean I am right, but it is something that I struggle with often. It is why articles like this appear on this blog. Yes, sometimes I wonder if I am being too "picky" about what is okay to watch, read or listen to, from a Christian stand point that is. A valid query I think, especially in light of how many fellow Christians, leaders and organizations in this world, unquestioningly endorse all kinds of so called "Christian" books, movies and such. Yet when I get these warning signals in my heart and research whatever it might be, more often than not, it turns out I am not alone. There are other brothers and sisters in Christ who also feel like minded. That comforts my heart and convicts me even more to speak out, to share what I have learned. Not because I enjoy critiquing others, but because the Bib...
